Leaving The Legacy Behind
Artist Statement
A photographer by the name of Ken Rockwell once said ‘An artist fixes his imagination in a tangible form called a photograph. He captures the spirit of place or person, real or imagined, in this photograph and the viewer responds to this.’
From young, I have been fascinated with images. It first started as a hobby but soon it grew into something that I would consider to be my passion. Photography tells a lot of things when the image is captured with a single click. I feel that a photograph tells me more than what most typical individual would think. However, it tells me a story and the mood of the source. To many, photography is very simple and boring, it doesn’t involve any hands on like painting or drawing. There is more than meets the eyes. The ambience is one of the key factors that play an important role of making the image a good piece of photography. Gradually over the years, photography has become popular. My favourite photography images would be seeing nature in digital eyes. It’s very sad to see Mother Nature being destroyed. Who knows one day the photography of nature would be priceless. I hope to capture these images, which in the future will be the past.

Clay
Sphere
This is one of the most challenging art projects I have to do. Firstly, the to form 3 cubes of different kind of materials; tracing paper, cardboard and ivory card. Secondly, the number of cubes that needed to erect the whole sphere was 286 cubes. That really slowed down the process of making a sphere and it took a long time. Lastly, the different ways of erecting the whole sphere. There was the steps method or the hollow method.
Print Making
Frottage
This drawing assignment given was to draw an imaginary creature using different textures to shade. This imaginary creature is made up of 3 different animals; the duck for the legs, the flamingo for the head and a fish for the tails and fins. The textures that were used for the texture came from a basket, road, door and glass frames and coins. On the whole, this project was pleasantly enjoyable.
Seahorse
This is one drawing that I will never forget. It took me nearly four dreadful days to complete this drawing of the seahorse. We had to choose a random seahorse to identify the features and details of the particular seahorse using dots. It may seem as though this was a waste of time but eventually I find out that it came to my understanding that different size of the dots make the whole figure more realistic.
Crumpled Paper
This is one of the drawings I did for my weekly drawing class. I started by getting a blank white A4 paper for reference and started crumpling it. The crumpled lines were reference on deciding which tones was vital for making the flat piece of paper to look crumpled. Surprisingly, this took an hour to do.

Video Project
This is one of the group project we did. The theme of this video is Nature in Digital Eyes. Enjoy!
Photoshop

I used to wonder what was photoshop. Maybe it was a photo game or it was some sort of software that makes pictures look 3d. This was my first time dealing with photoshop and I must say that I actually had fun using it. Suprisingly, I took about a day to get used to all the functions. My theme was Nature in Digital Eyes. As shown in the pictue, I'm portrayed trying to hold mother earth with my bare hands. Day by day, mother nature's beauty is being ruined every second. This photoshop image was to promote awareness to people that everyone has a part to play to save mother nature. *PEACE OUT!
